Travel guide Singapore

Singapore is a cosmopolitan city-state that became independent from the British in 1965 and is today one of the world’s major economic centers for shipping and banking.

Hiking in Singapore – or just visiting on a budget – is not as good for travelers as it is in Thailand, Vietnam, or elsewhere in Southeast Asia.

Singapore is expensive by Southeast Asian standards, as everything costs twice as much as anywhere else in the region.

While most people have only come here to ‘do’ Singapore and check their wish lists for a few days, the city has shed its vibrant nature in recent years and has become a more entertaining and cosmopolitan city.

There is a growing scene for cocktails and food here. There is also a lot of activity.

Singapore is one of my favorite cities in the world and a travel destination that I look forward to eating all the food from the street vendors, Indian food and delicious seafood, walking the beautiful trails north hike and sit on the southern beaches.

Singapore Rocks – worth more time than expected.
